Here's a slow-motion video we made of the various mixing stages of the whole wheat cinnamon rolls. You can see what it looks like at the end, you know how your own dough should look!
Sometimes a recipe doesn't go quite as planned and the product doesn't come out looking as it should. What to look for? In a dough for a breakfast pastry, such as these cinnamon rolls, the dough should be able to form a ball and not be too sticky.
- If the dough looks as it does at the start of the video, add a bit of flour and mix some more.
- If it's drier than the dough pictured at the end, adding small amounts of cream or butter should help make it more moist.
